2009 Installation Speech

Grand Master, Dennis Ing, Past Grand Masters, Worshipful Sirs, Members of Pearl Harbor Lodge, Distinguished East, Brothers& Sisters, Ladies& Gentlemen.  Thank you all for coming and enjoying the evening with Pearl Harbor Lodge. The good ship Pearl Harbor Lodge is still is sea.  The officers and men are training hard to become proficient in their work.  And, will in due time, return to port a lean, knowledgeable team of men.

Thank you for your confidence in electing me as Master of your Lodge.  The 2009 Elected and Appointed officers will strive to improve your lodge and move forward in the Masonic Community.

Your Lodge has many things to do and many goals to meet.  We will do everything in our power to achieve your expectations.

Personally, I would like to see the Lodge return to the way it was in the eighties.  We had great teamwork, morale, leadership, and an upward mobility in the Lodge.  Our wives had to drag us home after Stated Meetings.

There are a few goals that I would like to have the Lodge achieve.

1.      To have the Lodge work as a team.

2.      To qualify the officers in their position and the next two positions.  To make them want to learn.  Be all that they can be.

3.      Get back to the basics and bring back Masonic Education to the Lodge.

4.      Boost Morale.

5.      Increase membership.

6.      More Keiki ID events.

I can not do all these things myself.  I need the support of all the members of Pearl Harbor Lodge, our sister Lodges, and the Grand Lodge.  When you are asked to help, please don’t say no.   Support your Lodge.  Your attendance at our meetings is essential.  Your advice is welcome at anytime.  Assist the lodge by recommending new members, Volunteer for committees.  Bring an old timer back to Lodge.  There are many other duties which can help the lodge.  Together, let us get it done.

Thank you for coming.  Sing those Christmas carols, enjoy the season, and decorate your Christmas tree.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Most of all; drive home safely so that we may see all of you next year.

MISSION STATEMENT

VISION STATEMENT

Pearl Harbor Lodge will exist in the future as a healthy, financially sound, Masonic Lodge with a continuing Officer Line and stable interested membership.  It will have conducted itself in a positive and progressive manner that has assured its continuance, for years to come, by concerning itself with the improvement and well being of its members, other Masonic bodies, the local community and the Grand Loge of Hawaii.  Pearl Harbor will have become a Lodge that many will wish to become a part of.  In addition, it will have carefully husbanded its resources and taken all necessary steps to maintain its environment never forgetting its role as a Lodge of Freemasons.
